Roslyn Heights is a hamlet home in the eastern part of Hempstead as well as part of the Roslyn area. This hamlet received its name from the Scotland Castle, Roslin Castle. The community is mainly families creating a very nice family atmosphere. The Temple Sinai was built in 1960 due to the growing Jewish community that began to call the area home beginning shortly after World War II.
The Roslyn School District serves the majority of Roslyn Heights along with East Williston School District; while 8th through 12th graders attend The Wheatley School. Some students in a few areas of Roslyn Heights attend Herrick’s School District. The area is known for delectable restaurants lining Mineloa Avenue with a variety of cuisines. Roslyn Heights offers residents a variety of businesses and shops as well.
The most popular attraction is the Christopher Morley Park offering court games, athletic fields, ice skating, golf, tennis courts, and a pool.
